AHS Key Club brings home honors

The AHS Key Club attended the Texas-Oklahoma state convention in Dallas this past weekend. The club brought home honors for 75 percent membership growth, and “on time reporting,” which means Secretary Lauryn Gore submitted all required reports to the state office completed and on time. Athens ISD press release

Athens High School brought in 21 wins this past week in the Technology Student Association (TSA) state competition in Waco.

“Our kids are incredible,” said teacher and TSA sponsor Julie Whitely. “This is the first year Athens has ever had a TSA chapter, and they were amazing.”

Evan Conley took first place in technical report. Kathryn Martinez racked up three first-place wins, a second place, a third place and two fifth places in various photography categories. Stephanie Ritz took first place in color computer generated art and fourth place in black and white computer generated art. Jacqueline Rodriguez took first place, third place and fourth place in various photography categories. Kathleen Tellez won first place, second place, three fourth places and a fifth place in various photography categories. Dustin McGhee won fourth place and fifth place in various photography categories.
