Eustace Honors Top 10 Seniors

Eustace top 10

FROM Superintendent Dr. Coy Holcombe’s blog

Monday night, Eustace ISD honored the top ten seniors at the annual Top Ten Banquet. Each of the top ten seniors gets to pick a teacher that has made an impact in their lives. They compose a letter to that teacher and read the letter at the banquet. Teachers that are chosen do not know which student has selected them until they arrive at the banquet. Students and teachers receive a certificate and plaque commemorating the event. Below is the list of the top ten students and the teacher they chose to honor:

  • Shelbi Wooley – Chuck Powers
  • Courtney Sandell – DeDe Lancaster
  • Angela Jackson – Vikki GoDair
  • Karli Gallops – Amy Huggins
  • Melody Allen – Heather Holloway
  • Chelsea Oliver – Brett Ragland
  • Meagan Gunter – Kim Purselley
  • Caleb Letkiewicz – Lisa Bynum
  • Walter Baker – Bill Mohon
  • Ridge Smith – Craig Peek

CRISD Voters Approve Bond

Cross Roads ISD voters approved a $4.5 million bond on a 198-147 vote.

Plans call for about $500,000 of the proposed bond to be used for repairs and improvements to existing facilities and the rest to build a 29,000 square-foot gym which will double as a student event center.

“It is exciting that the voters recognized and supported a true need of the district,” said CRISD School Board President Scott Huddleston. “This was the best opportunity for the taxpayers to get the best value for their money.”

Supporters of the bond say the school district had outgrown the existing 35-year-old gym. Continue reading “CRISD Voters Approve Bond”
