The Gun Barrel City Assembly #369 Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls participated in the installation of officers for the Gun Barrel City Eastern Star Chapter #1114 at the Cedar Creek Lake Masonic Lodge on Thursday evening, June 18. Tara Trimmins presented the incoming Worthy Matron, Mrs. Cheryl Nix (also her mother) with a personal size Rainbow Bible. Mrs. Donna Dean, member of the Gun Barrel City Assembly’s Advisory Board and Grand Deputy Chair for the Grand Assembly of Texas, as well as a Past Matron of Denton Eastern Star Chapter #259, served as Installing Organist. Mrs. Nix is a majority Rainbow Girl, a member of GBC Assembly’s Advisory Board, and is the proud mother of two Rainbow Girls, members of the Gun Barrel City Assembly. Michelle Sanderford, her older daughter, was installed as Conductress in the GBC Eastern Star Chapter Thursday night. Michelle will receive her Majority at Grand Assembly in Waco on June 28, as she has recently turn 20 years old and is finishing her term this month as Worthy Advisor of the GBC Rainbow Assembly. Pinnacle Women’s Club Installs Officers

Installation of Officers 2015-16

Outgoing Pinnacle Women’s Club president Jean Alexander thanked Shirley Lybrand and Cheryl Shaw for the beautiful table decorations and turned the program over to them for installation of new officers. They used a Hot Air Balloon theme to “send off” the new officers with their responsibilities. Char Richard was installed as Treasurer and given a green hat decorated with mail, a calculator and money; her gifts are diligence, honesty and charity. Joanna Linder, Secretary, was given a pink hat with a notepad, computer, pencils and post-it-notes; her gifts are posterity and organization. Teresa Cromer will be the Vice President wearing a blue hat with a calendar, speakers, donations and a menu; her gifts were fidelity, service and ideals. Charlotte Pechacek as President wears a purple hat with a gavel, big heart, time for others, lighthouse beacon and her gifts are teaching, learning, leading and following. New President Charlotte Pechacek said she was thrilled and honored to hold this office and announced the 2015-16 Committee Chairmen. She thanked everyone for their willingness to serve. The Gun Barrel City Assembly 369 Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls participated in the installation of officers for the Corsicana Eastern Star Chapter 118 at the Corsicana Masonic Lodge on Saturday, June 6. In opening the ceremony, Kayla Rife carried the Bible to the altar escorted by Coy Spicer, a member of the Black Gold DeMolay Chapter in Corsicana, who was carrying the Square and Compasses. Michelle Sanderford, Worthy Advisor of the Gun Barrel City Rainbow Girls, was honored to perform the Gavel Ceremony in presenting the Worthy Matron with her gavel. Donna Dean, member of the Gun Barrel City Assembly’s Advisory Board and a Grand Deputy for the Grand Assembly of Texas, as well as a Past Matron of Denton Eastern Star Chapter 259, served as Installing Organist.

Joyce Hagens was installed as Worthy Matron. Mrs. Hagens is a majority Rainbow Girl and has centered her term this year on the Masonic Youth. “Faith, Hope, & Charity” (lessons of the Rainbow Girls) is her theme. Splash Pad Open and Rocking in Athens

The Athens Kiwanis Splash Pad is open and very popular.

Kiwanis Club member Kim Hodges said, “(The Splash Pad) is a great gift to the city of Athens and it’s fun for all ages, so come out and have fun.”

The Splash Pad is located at the Kiwanis City Park, next to TVCC, and is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
