IMG_0134Boy Scout Troop 332 was formed in the 1950s in Kaufman. It became dormant in the 1980s and in the late 90s, David Shiels applied to Circle Ten Council to reactivate the charter. The troop was sponsored by St. Ann Catholic Church and Father Joseph Mehan. These boys helped with Kaufman Civic Auction, St. Ann Church Carnival, Kids Fish at Purtis Creek State Park, Pledge of Allegiance at Wal-Mart grand opening in Kaufman, St. Ann Church Dinner and Auction, assisted the Soul Church (homeless ministry) in feeding the hungry on the streets of Dallas, Spring Kaufman Neat program by helping residents of the city clean up around their home and neighbor, participated in the Scouting for Food a National Boy Scout project.

These boys work so hard and never receive much recognition, says Sarah Jungman who had a hand in choosing this troop. Sarah Maples DAR has chosen this troop to receive their Youth Citizenship award. We are so very, very proud of these boys and hope they will continue all their good deeds in the community. The troop received a shadow box with a medal and certificate framed. Each of the eighteen boys in the troop will received a certificate with their name on it and the troop received $25 from Sarah Maples with our sincere thanks for all they do. Thanks go to the Scoutmasters Todd and Julie Cato.
