Cowboy church donates to CCl Kiwanis

The Agape Knitters recently donated blankets they made to the Cedar Creek Kiwanis Club to use for an upcoming project.

The Agape Knitters welcomes anyone interested in knitting to join them each Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the Living For The Brand Cowboy Church. For more information on the group contact 903-675-9177.

Visit to Disciples Clinic of Athens

The Disciples Clinic of Athens offers basic medical and dental services for residents of Henderson County, Texas, who have no medical insurance, and who meet income and age requirements established by the Board of Directors. Applicants must work at least 20 hours per week.

The clinic is supported by donations and staffed almost completely by volunteers.

Heglund named to lead CASA of Trinity Valley

CASA of Trinity Valley announced that resource development officer Emily Heglund will replace Lee Ann Millender as the organization’s executive director.
Millender, who has served as director since 1998, is stepping down to take a position with Texas CASA, the statewide group that oversees more than 70 local CASA programs. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
