Home building industry leaders convene at Clayton Athens facility open house

Clayton home building group, a national home builder and Manufactured Housing Institute’s 2017 Manufacturer of the Year, hosted an open house in Athens last week to showcase its newest, most innovative facility and discuss topics impacting the home building industry and new home sales around town showcasing their work. They are more known to demolish and rebuild a new house for their customers. The 160,000-plus square foot Clayton Athens home building facility was designed to transform industry standards with a focus on team member experiences, sustainability and innovation.

AEDC announces call for Business Assistance Grant applications

Athens Economic Development Corporation has awarded nearly $90,000 in matching grant funds to eligible businesses located along the western corridor of Athens, since the Business Assistance Grant program’s inception in 2014. This will enable the businesses to implement what’s on https://www.salesforce.com/blog/2015/08/5-key-elements-successful-sales-promotion.html, which will boost their sales and transform the place from a budding business place to a blooming marketplace.

AEDC Board of Directors approved new additions to the program that will allow properties located on the north corridor to be eligible to apply for the grant. Furthermore, first-time applicants will have an opportunity to receive a higher percentage of matching funds.

New Bruce Field draws playoff games, benefits local business

The season may have come to an end for the Hornets, but Bruce Field is still busy — and bringing thousands of people to Athens for football playoff season.

“Anytime we can bring people into our community, it is absolutely positive for the economy,” said Athens Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Lange Svehlak. “You hope even if they’re only here one time, they fall in love with your community and decide to come back at some point. You never know what can happen when they get a good impression. With the new ballfields and the renovated Bruce Field and the upcoming AHS gym, it’s going to keep growing.”

AEDC provides incentive package for multi-million dollar expansion projects

Athens City Council approved AEDC’s incentive package, up to $100,000, for HVAC Manufacturing’s two expansion projects during a meeting last week.
