CCL Chamber Banquet Set For St. Patty’s Day

chamber logoThe 2014 Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet is slated for March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, at Cedar Creek Country Club. This year’s theme is an Irish saying, “Go raibh mile maith agaibh” ~ A thousand thanks! CCLACC President Jo Ann Hanstrom said, “It seems impossible, but the chamber is celebrating its 14th year and the board and staff are ever-grateful for the continued support of all of the members and others in the community who volunteer in thousands of ways to make Cedar Creek Lake a good place to live and do business.”

The chamber banquet is an evening of recognition for volunteers around the area, an annual event that has years of tradition and is filled with anticipation, as the names of the winners of the Lifetime Service Award, Citizen of the Year, Ambassador of the Year and various awards from the chamber chapters are announced during the evening’s program. Mabank ISD Teachers of the Year are also recognized by the Mabank Chapter of CCLACC. There’s still time to submit nominations for the major awards, but the deadline is March 3. The chamber asks that you call or email and request nomination forms for Citizen of the Year or the Jean Nichols Lifetime Service Award. It can be faxed or emailed and can also be picked up at the chamber office. The nominee and the person submitting the nomination don’t have to be chamber members and everyone is invited to participate.

Chamber President Jo Ann Hanstrom said, “I encourage everyone to mark their calendars now and plan to be with us on the special night of the year that we honor the awards recipients. It’s always a wonderful night of celebrating volunteerism in our community, plus we‘re looking forward to saying a great big ‘Thanks!’ to everyone.”

Tickets will go on sale soon and the chamber is asking that tickets be purchased in advance so that they can give an accurate count to the staff of Cedar Creek Country Club. Tickets will be available for $35 each at the chamber office, 604 S. Third St., Ste. E Mabank. Tables of 8 are available by reservation and ticket purchase. No other reserved seats will be available. Call 903.887.3152 or email [email protected] for more information.

Guitars Etc. Announces February Jam Session

Guitars

Saturday, Feb. 22, we will gather around the bonfire and it looks like a GREAT weekend to do so. Bring your instruments. We will run a power chord for a few small amps, but keep amps to a minimum.

Great fun around the campfire, so don’t forget the lawn chairs. Feel free to bring some marshmallows!

Bring a chair and an instrument for a great night of music at our monthly jam or just come to hear some great music. In the event of extremely cold or rainy weather we will move the jam inside. Can’t make this jam? Next Jam will be March 15 at 6 p.m.!

Pictured are some of the chamber members who came out on Friday to welcome Charli & Company Estate Management Services to Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Her cottage and adjoining buildings are full of wonderful items, including loaded book shelves with excellent condition choices. This is a true browser’s paradise and it’s all displayed beautifully, no clutter. Charli Hill (shown with ceremonial scissors) is a staging genius. Call Charli at 903.432.9190 to make an appointment to visit.
