In partnership with Trinity Valley Community College, The City of Athens and The Texan present Infinite Journey: The Music of Journey. Infinite Journey is an internationally known Journey tribute band based in Dallas, Texas. Chosen out of thousands of tribute acts across the country to perform on Season 7 of AXS TV’s “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands,” Infinite Journey is known as one of the greatest tribute bands in the country! Join us after the TVCC Homecoming Game to continue the celebration! Lead singer of the band, Donovan Duke, is a TVCC alumni. The concert will take place this coming Saturday, Oct. 27 at The Texan, a Landmark Venue.

It was a celebration of achievement Thursday evening, as three Athens High School graduates were inducted into the Hornet Hall of Fame. Some 100 people gathered at the annual gala to honor the contributions of Eugene Buford, Kaci Koviak Wesp and the late William Wayne Justice.
“We started the Hornet Hall of Fame three years ago to honor the remarkable men and women who have walked our halls,” said AISD Deputy Superintendent Dr. Janie Sims. “It’s important not only to look forward to where we want to be, but to acknowledge what has already been achieved.”
The City of Athens is pleased to announce that the 2018 Athens Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Entry forms and parade packets are now available at City Hall and on the City website at www.athenstx.gov.
ATHENS — Athens Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) has awarded more than $130,000 in matching grant funds to eligible businesses located along Athens’ main thoroughfares, since the Business Assistance Grant program’s inception in 2014. To date, eligible businesses have invested $910,745 in capital improvements.
