HCPAC Looking for Actors, Directors and Wannabes

HCPAC logoThe Henderson County Performing Arts Center is holding auditions Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 18-19, from 6:30-8 p.m. for adult male and female actors. HCPAC is doing staged readings of three comedies by a Texas playwright.

In a staged reading seated actors read from the script. There are no sets, costumes, props or movement. and there is no memorization of lines, making this the perfect opportunity for actors to show their versatility without making a huge time commitment. Rehearsals are kept to a minimum of 2 or 3 before the ‘performance’. We are also looking for potential directors for these shows.

The performances are September 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20. Each show will be performed two times over the two weekends – one per night. One show will be performed three times.

In a press release from the school district, Superintendent Blake Stiles said, “This is excellent news. It means on a district level we are hitting performance targets established by the state. It reflects the efforts of our teachers and campus leadership to do all we can to educate every one of our students to the best of our ability.” Continue reading “Athens ISD Earns Distinctions; Middle School Needs Improvement”
