Trinity Valley Community College’s nationally-acclaimed cheerleading squad is hosting two fun and instructional events this Sunday, Sept. 21.
The first event is a Cheerleader Recruiting Clinic for all high-school-aged individuals and older from 4-6 p.m. at the Cain Center. The event is aimed at anyone who might be interested in trying out for any college cheer team in the future.
Cost of the clinic is $25. Participants under 18 years old must complete a release waiver by an appropriate guardian. For more information about the clinic, contact TVCC Cheer Coach Khris Franklin at [email protected].
The first of two practices for TVCC’s upcoming Junior Cheerleader Day will also be held Sunday from 4-5:30 p.m. at Cardinal Gym on campus. Junior Cheerleader Day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, to coincide with the “Battle In The Valley” football game between TVCC and the College of DuPage. Kickoff for the game is at 3 p.m. and participants will get to cheer on the field during the first or second half.
Junior Cheerleader Day is for participants between the ages of 8-11 and 12-14. The second practice will be Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, also at Cardinal Gym. Participants may come to one or both practices.
Cost to participate in Junior Cheerleading Day is $30 and includes a T-shirt in addition to the two practices that will feature instruction from the TVCC Cheerleaders. To register, e-mail [email protected].
