Car Show and Kiwanis Krawfish Boil Set for Saturday

crawfish 2Press release

Saturday, May 2 is the day that you’ll want to be at Mabank Pavilion early and plan to stay awhile so you don’t miss a thing at the 2015 Cedar Creek Lake Car Show & Kiwanis Krawfish Boil.

The Kiwanis Club will have the crawfish and all the trimmings on to cook very early and traditionally, the first batch is ready by about 9 a.m. By then, the chamber Grill Team is cooking up burgers and hot dogs and the concession is busy serving breakfast items. Crawfish will be served until all is gone. 2015 prices are $26 for a flat (feeds four), $16 for a half flat and $8 for a Boat. The concession items are reasonably priced and affordable for families. Parking and entry to the Car Show are free to the public.

The cars will start rolling in by 7 a.m., with registration opening at 8 a.m. Registration fee is $20 per car, whether pre-registered or registering the day of. According to the Car Show Committee Chair, Bill Hanstrom, there are already more than 100 cars pre-registered, but the grounds of the Mabank Pavilion offer lots of space for parking the show cars and the owners are encouraged to bring their tents for shade and plan to sit back and relax, visit with the crowd and enjoy the day.

Entry forms for the Car Show are available through the chamber of commerce office for those wanting to pre-register. There will be door prizes, t-shirts for all pre-registered entries, 50/50 raffle, and lots of good music to add to the festive day. The 2014 Car Show hosted over 180 entries and by all indications, that number will be topped this year.

Proceeds from the sale of the crawfish benefit the Kiwanis Club and funds their programs for local kids and proceeds from the concession benefit the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
