The City of Athens thanks Will Perryman and Boy Scout Troop 343 of Athens for installing several wood duck nesting boxes at Cain and Coleman Parks.
The boxes were built to attract wood ducks to the ponds and be an enjoyment for park patrons. Will and Troop 343 will annually check the boxes for wood duck nesting activity, maintain the boxes, and ultimately hand the project to future scouts. Will was assisted in his Eagle project by fellow scouts Johnathan Goode, Jackson Killgore, Matthew Collins, Ian Collins, Temple Hendrickson, Brodi Phillips, Rayden Hale, Andrew Rodriguez and D.J. Johnston. Adult leaders included wildlife biologist Carl Frentress, Harry Budow, Jim Adams, Steve Goode and Will’s father, Chip Perryman.
