Unofficial results show Keith Bell defeating Stuart Spitzer in the District 4 State Representatives race, 7,892 – 5,508.
Bell beat Spitzer 4,816 – 2,754 in Kaufman County. The vote was closer in Henderson County where Bell had a 3,076 – 2,754 edge.
And yes, according to the Secretary of State’s Office Tuesday night, Spitzer received the same number of votes in both counties.
These results are even more unofficial than normal because a district judge on Monday signed an order seizing nearly 600 absentee ballots in Kaufman County at the request of the State Attorney General’s Office. There have been allegations made of election fraud in the March 6 Primary and the May 7 Terrell ISD School Board election.
Officials with the AG’s Office and the Texas Rangers are expected to be in Kaufman County Wednesday to inspect the ballots.
