Congratulations to Dennis Baade on becoming Gun Barrel City’s new mayor. Baade replaces former Mayor Jim Brawell, who resigned earlier this month for family reasons.
Councilman Rob Rae is now the mayor pro-tem.
The moves leave a vacancy on the City Council for Place 4 – West District. Those eligible and interested in filling the spot can pick up an application at City Hall.
There are other openings in GBC government as well, including a seat on the Economic Development Corporation board and the Planning and Zoning Commission. Also, volunteers are still being sought to serve on the Charter Review Committee.
