On Saturday, Oct. 18, the ACPA girls swim and dive team posted its second straight victory of the season by beating Dallas Bishop Dunne 135 to 125 at the Cain Center. Texas Christian Academy from Waco was third with 99 points and Fort Worth Christian Academy was fourth with 68 points.
The team was led by senior captain KT Hardin with two first place finishes in the 200m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly. Also scoring for the girls was Avery Weinstein with a first place finish in diving; Jamie Boyd with second place finishes in the 200m Individual Medley and the 100m Breaststroke; Mary Cheadle with third place in the 50m Freestyle and second place in the 500m Freestyle; and Caysie Clark with a fifth place finish in the 100m Freestyle and fourth place in the 100m Backstroke. The ACPA girls also won all three relay events – the 200m free relay, 200m medley relay and 400m free relay.
In the middle school division the ACPA girls finished second to the middle school swimmers from Granbury. The middle school girls were led by Anna Parsons with two third place finishes in the 100m Individual Medley and the 50m Butterfly and second place in the 50m Freestyle. Also scoring for the middle school girls was Chloe Wright with fifth place finishes in the 100m Freestyle and 50m Freestyle and a sixth place finish in the 50m Backstroke.
Swim coach Willy Robson said, “The team performed extremely well and continued to show positive improvement from the previous meet last month. We have not attained our goals yet, but are on a good track to reach them by the state meet in February.”
The next team competition will be Nov. 15 at the Cain Center in Athens.
