On Monday, Dec. 1, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Sheriff’s Office Deputy Keon Mack observed a vehicle parked on the side of FM 315 just north of FM 317 with its hazard lights flashing. Deputy Mack stopped to assist the stranded motorist and made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Jamie Meador. Meador advised Deputy Mack that his driver’s license was suspended. Deputy Mack observed something in Meador’s pants pocket and when asked about it, Meador provided the deputy with a case containing what Meador identified as marijuana as well a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
A search of Meador yielded approximately two additional ounces of suspected methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 5 pounds of additional suspected methamphetamine in crystalline form. Deputy Mack also located over $2,100 cash on Meador which was subsequently seized.
Meador was arrested and transported to the Henderson County Detention Center and booked for ManufactureDelivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 greater than 400 grams and an outstanding DWI related warrant. Meador was released after posting a $35,000 bond and paying the warrant fine totaling $1,644.
All suspected methamphetamine will be sent to the DPS Crime Lab for chemical analysis. At an estimated street value of between $80 to $100 per gram, the value of the seized methamphetamine is estimated between $197,120 and $246,400.
