Memorial services for Frances Salazar, 60, of Athens are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the First Assembly of God in Eustace.
Mrs. Salazar went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2014 in Tyler, Texas.
Frances Ilene Boone Salazar was born February 11, 154 in Dallas, Texas the daughter of J.E. Boone and Beatrice Ruth Davis Boone. She was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church of Eustace who loved her Church family. Mama Frances managed the Dairy Queen in Athens for twenty years and was a second mother to three generations of children. She enjoyed bowling, skiing, playing bingo and swimming. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father J.E. Boone.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years Tomas Salazar of Athens; her mother, Beatrice Ruth Boone of Athens; one daughter, Sherry Carnes and husband Elliot of Athens; three sons, Joel Salazar of Dallas, Tomas Salazar Jr. of Athens, Jesse Salazar of Athens; two sisters, Freda Smith of Mabank, Brenda Boone Lewsader and husband Stephen of Athens and eight grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Salazar, Tomas Salazar Jr., Jesse Salazar, Elliot Carnes, Allan Stallings and Adam Stallings.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to: First Assembly of God Church; 412 U.S. 175, Eustace, TX 75124.
