The Color of Ideas Community Arts Center (TCOI), just off the Square at 207 E. Tyler Street, announces a new Origami Club! Origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, is a fun activity for all ages. (Google origami for more details!) Origami paper will be provided for all who join in this fun event. No fee to participate in meetings, though donations are requested.
The benefits of origami are many: relaxation, fun, creative expression, patience, perseverance, logical thinking…to name a few. First Club meeting will be 10 a.m. this Saturday, July 12, at TCOI.
For those interested, a Leather Tooling Class ($20 for hour and a half class) will be meeting at the same time as the Origami Club. In the near future The Color of Ideas is hoping to begin a Calligraphy Club. If anyone would like to chair this new venture contact TCOI Director, Carolyn Ellis through Facebook at The Color of Ideas or stop by TCOI — Tuesday through Saturdsy, 9 am to noon — to discuss ideas!
