Sara Knight from Fort Worth saw a post on Facebook and realized there was a need here in Henderson County. The need was supplies for the East TX Crisis Center who help women and children of domestic violence and sexual assaults. Inspired by the fact grants have been drastically cut for our organization. Sara could not just sit by and do nothing.
She works for the The Nielson Co. in Arlington who take great pride in helping not for profit organizations. Once hearing how the East TX Crisis Center helps our communities and how they were in desperate need of supplies they jumped right in. Sara launched a “Fill the SUV” campaign. What a success! She delivered a stuffed SUV full of personal hygiene items, as well as baby items like diapers and medical scrubs. As well as all the items donated, they also raised $200 to sponsor Joseph McCord a Junior at Mabank High School to walk in the Walk A Mile in Her Shoe’s fundraiser on May 31 in Athens.
Thank you so very much for all of the donations your support is so very appreciated.
