Ally Odom may be missing from the Henderson County Livestock Show this year, but she is surely not forgotten.

Ally was supposed to be one of the #HCLS Princess nominees, but she is still in the hospital after suffering serious injuries in a barrel racing injury March 22.

The good news is she is recovering well, according to her mother Paula Odom. More good news is that the community has stepped up to help the family at this difficult time.

“I want to say as many thank yous as I can to the people who have helped,” Paula told me today. “I am overwhelmed by how many people have come forward.”

The community continues to step forward, and now there is a benefit trail ride scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Trace Trails. The event is sponsored by the Henderson County Horse Committee, which is also accepting donations to help the Odom family with the medical bills.

There was even a Carter BloodCare blood drive at the Fairpark Complex today in honor of Ally.

“It is all very overwhelming,” said Paula. “I cannot say thank you enough.”
