Doris Elizabeth Brumfield passed away on January 6, 2019. She was born on March 11, 1932 to O.B. Foxworth and Keturah Elizabeth Mabry Foxworth.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E.D. “Brum” Brumfield; her son, Buck Wall; her brother, Buddy Foxworth.
Doris always had a love for her family. She was married to Brum for 35 years. Prior to his death they loved to travel with their family. They adopted their two granddaughters, Sheila and Shelly and raised them successfully. After this she made the move to her sons in Opelika, Texas where she lived with her son Scott and daughter-in-law Amanda, who cared for her all of these years. Doris enjoyed gardening, riding in the mule with the dogs, sewing and playing dominos with her neighbors. She had a special love for her two grandsons, Blaine and Layne and great-grandchildren, Kade and Laramie. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Scott Brumfield and wife Amanda; her daughters, Ann Wegner and Tyann Novak and husband Jerry; her sister Jenilyn Simon and husband Randy; grandchildren, Sheila Wall, Shelly Wall, Christie Wall Craigen and John Wall, Blaine Brumfield, Layne Brumfield, Clete Wegner, Cary Wegner; along with numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many others that she loved, mothered and nurtured throughout her life and treated as her own.
The family would like to invite you to a 2:00 PM memorial service to celebrate Doris’s life, on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Opelika Missionary Baptist Church in Brownsboro. Arrangements by Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
