The Athens Middle School Treble Choir won the much-heralded Sweepstakes Award by earning perfect scores at the Middle School UIL Concert and Sight Reading Competition in Carthage on April 5. The students received all perfect scores on both portions of the event. “These ladies have been working and perfecting three pieces of music since January and have been practicing their sight reading skills in class every day since the beginning of the year,” said AMS Choir Director Sarah Smith. This marks the second time in three years for the middle school treble choir to win a Sweepstakes Award. (Courtesy photo)
