The Texas Transportation Commission took a huge step last week in funding the rebuilding of the Highway 334 bridge between Seven Points and Gun Barrel City. Prior to this vote, which made this project a reality, it had only been expressed as an important goal, but no money had been committed to this project.
“I have heard from many businesses and citizens on the Lake who are concerned about this issue, and I want them to know that I have been working hard to ensure this funding would come to fruition,” said Senator Robert Nichols.
“As a former Transportation Commissioner and current Senate Transportation Chair, I understand that the competition for these dollars has never been higher,” said Nichols. “I applaud the Commission for taking the important first step towards allocating funds for this project.”
