On Friday, Aug. 5, Henderson County Sheriff Office Investigators arrested a 57-year-old Brownsboro man and charged him with aggravated sexual assault, Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said Monday.

Paul Wayne Simpson is being held in the Henderson County Jail after Sheriff’s Investigator Cayce Hampton investigated the case and found evidence suggesting the victim had been sexually assaulted.

Hampton, Investigators Wick Gabbard, Josh Rickman and Jeromey Rose executed warrants issued by Henderson County Court at Law #1 Judge Scott Williams and the case against Simpson is still being actively investigated.

Simpson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Tony Duncan and a $100,000 bond was set. If found guilty, the suspect could face life behind bars and a $10,000 fine.

“These brutal crimes are sickening and heartbreaking,” Hillhouse said. “This team of fine Investigators work for the people of this county everyday making sure these folks are brought to justice.”
