Clint Davis to get third term as County Attorney

It looks like the voters of Henderson County want to keep the County Attorney’s Office.

Incumbent Clint Davis beat challenger James Owen, 9,970 to 2,872, in the Republican primary election Tuesday night. Because no Democrat filed to run for the office, Davis will run unopposed in November.

Owen turned the election into a referendum on the County Attorney’s Office by campaigning on the promise to eliminate it if elected.

“I am very grateful. Probably more so than when I was elected eight years ago,” said Davis, who will be starting his third term as County Attorney. “My heartfelt appreciation is so much more for the people who are out there who continue to support me, and many voters and support I have picked up since the first time I ran, and that means a lot to me.”
