More than 205 law enforcement jurisdictions from across Texas will participate in the “Great Texas Warrant Roundup” beginning Saturday, March 5. In this statewide effort, officers will arrest people with outstanding warrants pending before their respective municipal courts.

Law enforcement agencies and cities throughout the state conduct roundups at different times throughout the year, focusing on violators with outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrants; most of which are traffic related. If you find that you’re one of the people who is facing these misdemeanor charges then you will want to contact a misdemeanor charge attorney fort worth to help you plead not guilty or get a reduced sentence. Once again, law enforcement agencies statewide are combining their efforts. Those arrested will be taken before court judges for arraignment and disposition of their cases. Full payment or suitable arrangement for full payment will be due at that time. Other options may include a cash bond, a magistrate court appearance, or attorney representation.

Notices have been mailed to persons with warrants active for them. Officials noted that although the concentration is on C misdemeanor charges, higher charged warrants may also be served.

“This is a massive and well-coordinated warrant roundup effort,” said Gun Barrel City Chief of Police Damon Boswell. “We urge people to take care of their warrants immediately so they can avoid being arrested. Our effort will stretch county-wide in an attempt to serve a majority of our 2,251 warrants on file, with extra officers working to achieve the task.”

People with outstanding Gun Barrel city citations are strongly encouraged to appear in person or contact the Municipal Court at 903-887-4990 in order to avoid the embarrassment of being arrested at home, work and school, or wherever else they may be found.
