Members of the First United Methodist Church of Athens donated 10 Thanksgiving baskets to Athens ISD to be given to the families of students in need of assistance. The Methodist church, along with additional anonymous donors, also supplied 70 hygiene kits to student services to use for homeless students and at-risk youth. “If any other churches or organization would like to help our students, we would encourage them to adopt a student as a Christmas Angel,” said AISD Parent Liaison Yadira Chairez. Those interested in helping can call 903-677-6913 or email [email protected].
