Last week, District Attorney Scott McKee, District Clerk Betty Herriage and Sheriff Ray Nutt along with 1st Assistant D.A. Mark Hall presented a $500 check to Ann Hall of the Henderson County Rainbow Room. The check was from the Henderson County Go Blue non-profit organization. McKee and Herriage are officers of the organization, which raises awareness of child abuse and neglect throughout Henderson County. County Attorney Clint Davis is also a member and supporter of Go Blue.
“The Rainbow Room is a great organization in our community,” said McKee.
“When a child is removed from a home by CPS, he or she often leaves home with nothing, or just a couple of personal items,” said past president Ann Hall. “Once they go to foster care, their needs are provided for. But, in-between, the state doesn’t provide any funds for clothes, or whatever they need. We provide brand new clothes, shoes, school supplies, back packs, diapers, personal-hygiene items, even birthday parties their parents may have forgotten about, because of drug problems.”
