Meeting to address changes to Texas tobacco retail laws

Press release

The Henderson County Community Coalition Partnership will host a meeting at noon on Thursday, Nov. 19, to discuss the changes to Texas tobacco retail laws.

Some of the results of the 84th session of the Texas Legislature include changes to Texas laws governing tobacco retail outlets and what may be sold to whom, specifically restriction on the sale of e-cigarettes and e-cigarette paraphernalia to minors which made business transaction law services more needed in the area. So due to these new laws coming into practice, people of a certain age may now have to look online on sites such as Nicotine-Pouches.com so they’re still able to get some form of nicotine intake without having to purchase a cigarette.

Many smokers are also resulting in online orders for their cigarettes due to these laws changing. Booze Up has an online cigarette shop that delivers within just 30 minutes of ordering, so no wonder locals are turning to shop online instead of visiting retail stores as and when they can.

During the meeting, representatives from the East Texas Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse will give a presentation and host a discussion on the changes to Texas tobacco laws and what they mean for retail outlets and the community, whether these shops are selling an all white product or any other kind.

After the discussion of tobacco laws, there will be a discussion of CCP-HE business, including planned activities for the spring and the Implementation Plan.

A free lunch will be provided.
