Possible hazardous weather in the forecast

The National Weather Service has issued the following Hazardous Weather Outlook for North and Central Texas, including Henderson County:

wpid-weather-alert.jpgISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TODAY. THE PRIMARY HAZARDS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE GUSTY WINDS AND CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BECOME LIKELY TONIGHT. A FEW DISCRETE STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE EARLY THIS EVENING…BEFORE A LINE OF SEVERE STORMS ENTERS WESTERN NORTH TEXAS BY MIDNIGHT AND TRACKS EAST INTO AREAS EAST OF INTERSTATE 35 BY SUNRISE TUESDAY MORNING.

DESTRUCTIVE STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE THE PRIMARY THREAT WITH THE OVERNIGHT SQUALL LINE. HOWEVER…A FEW TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE…ESPECIALLY WITH ANY DISCRETE SEVERE STORMS AHEAD OF THE SQUALL LINE. HAIL TO QUARTER SIZE WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG AND WEST OF INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL COULD LEAD TO FLOODING…ESPECIALLY THOSE AREAS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED HEAVY RAINFALL IN RECENT WEEKS.
