This year’s Brownsboro Pioneer Days will kick off with a hometown parade. The fun will begin at 9 a.m. at the Brownsboro City Park and end at the Brownsboro High School parking lot. The family friendly event and festive fun activities is all a part of the Brownsboro Pioneer Days on Saturday, Nov. 14. The event is returning for a second year to celebrate Brownsboro’s rich history. Admission is free and a great way to get into the holiday mood. All other activities will take place on the Brownsboro High & Jr High School properties. Brownsboro is the oldest city in Henderson County and is proud of its heritage. The Brownsboro Chamber of Commerce works hard to spotlight the City’s origins but to also host an event that the community can enjoy.

The parade’s Grand Marshal will be Brownsboro’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Christopher Moran. Brownsboro Mayor Terry Mills, the Patriot Guard, Law Enforcement officials, Fire Department personnel and Brownsboro High School Homecoming Queen Macy Williams will be part of the parade’s line up. The marching band action will be a combine effort from the 7th and 8th grade bands from Brownsboro Jr High. Cheerleaders, the drill team and other school organizations will also be participating. A guaranteed parade crowd pleaser will be an appearance by Santa Claus during the parade route.

A variety of activities are set to take place all day long after the parade. Arts & Craft vendors will help you with your Christmas shopping. Handcrafted holiday wreaths, crochet items, hair bows and flip-flops will be for sale. BBQ plates, sausage-on-stick and funnel cakes are just a few menu items being provided by food vendors.

There will be plenty of activities for the kids. Face painting, barrel train rides, a petting zoo, a sky jump, a mechanical bull and much more will be set up. KornPop the clown and the Long Tall Texan will be on hand to take pictures and to entertain the crowd.

An evening classic Gospel concert featuring The Second Chance Band and The Bent Bucket Band will be taking place at 7 p.m.. Both bands are known for their legendary western gospel sounds. The concert will also feature Sandi Dickey and Lori Lee in the Brownsboro High school gym. Tickets can be purchase at Y’s Hometown Foods, Brownsboro City hall, Chandler Feed & Seed and Lone Star Western Wear in Athens. Concert tickets are
$6 in advance, $10 at the door.
