Obituary: Charline Johnson

Johnson, CharlineFuneral services for Charline Johnson, 90, of Murchison are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at Central Baptist Church with Brother Glenn Hohmann and Pastor Shawn Spencer officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas.

She passed away in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 in Weatherford, Texas.

Charline Davis Johnson was born January 14, 1925 in Linden, Texas the daughter of Charlie and Blanche Davis. She married Lonzo Johnson on October 15, 1941 in Dangerfield. Charline attended Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth and graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity Degree. Charline and Lonzo served as missionaries in Central America including Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Upon returning home from the mission field Charline served as a Pastors’ wife and in various ministries. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas for more than 35 years, Sunday school teacher and 1st grade superintendent. Upon retirement in 1983 Charline and Lonzo moved to Callendar Lake and were faithful members of Central Baptist Church in Athens. Charline was passionately dedicated to serving in the Northwest United States with the Native Americans and took every opportunity to share the love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ms. Charline wanted everyone she came in contact with to know what Christ had done for her and what He could do for them. Even at the end of her life and in hospice care she was sharing Christ with those around her and praying with them. Charline was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt and will be greatly missed by all she knew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lonzo Johnson; two brothers, Junior and Leautice Davis; son, Charles L. Johnson; daughter, Jean Johnson Bishop; and son-in-law, Shelby Bishop.

Charline is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Rumfield and husband Jimmy of Rogers, Cyndi Roberts and husband James of Weatherford; two sisters, Earlene Davenport of Watauga, LaJuana Banning and husband Fred of Canton, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bill Bishop, Jeff Bishop, Anthony Armstrong, Phillip Roberts, Brady Reynolds, Jacob Roberts, Tim Fatheree and Levi Libhart.
