Funeral services for Jessie Mae White, 81 of Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Charles Tapley officiating. Burial will follow in Carroll-Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. White passed away July 12, 2015 in Athens.
She was born April 9, 1934 in Dallas to Billy and Lillie Mae Hendrix Ward.
Jessie loved playing Bingo and flower gardening. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge. She loved her grandchildren very much.
She is preceded in death by her husband John C. White, Sr., brother Billy Ward, grandson David Lynn Smith and great grandson Jonathon Wade McRae.
Survivors include her daughters Vickie Shaw and husband Phelix of Trinidad, Debbie Berry and husband Marcus of Athens; sons James White and wife Regina of Cooper, Johnny C. White, Jr. and wife Kristie of Athens; grandchildren Jeremy Shaw, Penney Kile, Karen Hand, Misty Penate, Kevin Smith, Mickie Jo Land, Golden Long, Doug Williams, Pamela White, Brittany Hall, Nikki Neal and numerous great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Berry, Jeremy Shaw, Chris Hall, Jack Kile, Trey Neal and Jacob Kile.
Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
