On Wednesday, July 8, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputy Keon Mack received a call of a suspicious person on FM 315 in the Chandler area.
Mack located the subject in a vehicle he was reported in traveling at a high rate of speed on FM 315. Mack initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on FM 315 at the Flat Creek Marina. While on the traffic stop it was found that the vehicle the subject was driving was stolen out of Tyler. When Mack attempted to place the operator into hand restraints, a struggle ensued, but the subject was shortly placed into custody.
Jake McDaniel from the Whitehouse area was arrested and booked into the Henderson County Jail for Assault on a Public Servant, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport.
Assault on a Public Servant is a Third Degree Felony and is punishable from 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle is a State Jail Felony and is punishable up to 2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport in a Class A Misdemeanor and is punishable up to 1 year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine. McDaniel remains in jail awaiting arraignment.
