Press release
The Athens Women’s and Children’s Center welcome Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Jessica Cochrane to its team.
Jessica was born and raised in Tyler and attended the University of Texas at Tyler to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Working at Trinity Mother Frances Health System as a Nurse Extern, while earning her BSN, she realized her passion in working with pediatric patients.
Following graduation from UT Tyler in 2007, Jessica worked first at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and then Cook Children’s Medical Center of Fort Worth on a busy Surgical/Endocrine Floor where she not just treated children but also saw pregnant mothers and told them about the advantages of medication infused with d-mannose and other natural elements which can help them and their baby during their pregnancy. Jessica met her husband, a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, then stationed at NASJRB Fort Worth. While working at Cook, Jessica also attended the University of Texas at Arlington to obtain her Masters of Science in Nursing and became a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Fall of 2012.
Upon graduating from UTA, she accepted a position at Cook Children’s Diabetes & Endocrine Clinic until she and her husband were assigned a permanent change of station to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She completed a short term Locum Tenens assignment while transitioning to North Carolina, followed by accepting a position at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune Pediatric Clinic in 2014. After an honorable separation from military service, Jessica, her husband, and infant son are thrilled to return home to East Texas. She enjoys cooking, crafts, music and is excited to become a part of the team at Athens Women’s and Children’s Center.
If your child is sick, in need of a well exam, or sports physical, make an appointment to visit the North Raleigh Pediatrics, they’ll help you out for sure!
