Drug Dealer Sentenced to 10 Years

On Wednesday morning, Ray Glenn Followwell, 50 formerly of Seven Points, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Justin Weiner prosecuted the case on behalf of Scott McKee’s District Attorney’s Office. Followwell was sentenced in the 173rd Judicial District Court with Judge Dan Moore presiding.

Followwell was indicted by a Henderson County Grand Jury following an investigation by Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Wick Gabbard. Continue reading “Drug Dealer Sentenced to 10 Years”

Henderson County DA’s Office Bids Farewell to Longtime Employees

District Clerk-elect Betty Herriage and Ronni Harris received a warm farewell Thursday at a ceremony in the District Attorney’s Office. Herriage will assume office as District Clerk on January 1. Ronni Harris will join Herriage in the Clerk’s office.

Herriage joined the District Attorney’s Office in October 1996 as a court secretary and was soon promoted to Grand Jury coordinator and then Victim Assistance Coordinator. Herriage was eventually promoted to office manager by District Attorney Donna Bennett and kept those duties when Scott McKee took over the office in 2009. Obituary: Justin Lee Nailling

justinJustin Lee Nailling, 39, was born in Dallas, Texas Sept. 14, 1975 to Jackie Lee and Kathi Nailling of Gun Barrel City. He passed away Dec. 17, 2014 in Rowlette, Texas.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at Eubank Cedar Creek Chapel, 601 State Highway 198 at Walnut, Mabank, Texas 75147.

Justin resided in Rockwall, but was a longtime resident of Gun Barrel City and had an enormous passion for Cedar Creek Lake. Justin attended Kemp High School and was a former employee of USA Machines for approximately 10 years. Justin was a free spirit. He loved music and when he wasn’t arguing politics with his mother he enjoyed the company of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Lee, and his aunt, Joni Campbell of Dallas. Continue reading “Obituary: Justin Lee Nailling”
