Woman Arrested for Drugs in Gun Barrel city

On September 3 at approximately 6:22 p.m., Deputy Daniel Wright conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Oak Harbor Drive and Welch Lane in Gun Barrel City near the Cedar Creek Lake area of Henderson County. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle reported to be driven away from the scene of a disturbance on Wedgewood Loop in the Oak Harbor subdivision. The driver was identified as Joyce Patricia Williams, 55 years old, from Dallas. Deputy Wright conducted a search of Williams’ vehicle and located a baggie containing Methamphetamines. Williams was taken into custody and booked into the Henderson County Jail for Possession of Controlled Substance Penal Group 1 less than 1 gram, a State Jail Felony.

An individual found guilty of a state jail felony shall be punished by confinement in a state jail for any term of not more than two years or less than 180 days. In addition to confinement, an individual found guilty of a state jail felony may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.
