Who wants to partner up like a Super Bowl ad?

Just when you think you may have seen it all … the Super Bowl ads never cease to entertain and this year even hint at the future of business.

We expect great Super Bowl ads. This year’s Kia and Mini Cooper ads were great. We expect car companies to spend millions of dollars. We expect beer companies to spend millions of dollars and produce great ads. Budweiser Clydesdales and Dalmatian dogs.

We don’t expect mom and pop shops to advertise – it’s simply too expensive. A 30 second ad this year cost between $4 to $5 million dollars. Yes, $4,000,000 to $5,000,000. Wow.

But, this year I saw something new. I’m sure many of you saw it as well. The question is when you saw it did it strike you the same way that it struck me?

Our little Henderson County law firm could never spend anywhere close to the money noted above on an ad during the Super Bowl. However, a lawyer did have an ad run Sunday. What’s interesting and telling of what the future holds is that it just wasn’t a lawyer ad.

The lawyer, Bryan Wilson, is a criminal attorney from Fort Worth. Mr. Wilson previously uploaded some pretty creative ads on YouTube. Sunday, he partnered with Taco Bell to be the talent in a Taco Bell ad. What an interesting way of cross branding. Almost like a duet between Eminem and Elton John. The duet worked. Did the Taco Bell commercial work? It probably takes some time before we have the data to say yes or no, and more than likely neither Taco Bell nor Mr. Wilson will provide much data.

I’ll put it out there to see whether any other business owner sees this as an opportunity. The Weinstein Team has worked pretty hard for a very long time to enhance our brand throughout Henderson County. We publish Henderson County Now which reaches over 60,000 users per week and has almost 25,000 Facebook followers. If you want to partner up with us and do a marketing campaign together, let me know. It might not generate a lot of work but it sure as heck might generate some discussion similar to what the Law Hawk did with Taco Bell.
