Warrant Investigation Leads to Marijuana Arrest

On Wednesday, July 22, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kyle Pochobradsky located Darrin Mullen at a residence in the Log Cabin area. Mullen had an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from an incident which occurred on July 9 in which Mullen is alleged to have used a firearm during the commission of an assault. That investigation is still ongoing.

While at the residence, Pochobradsky observed narcotics and contacted HCSO Narcotics Investigator Kendell Wellman. Investigator Wellman obtained a search warrant for the residence from District 392 Judge Tarrence Carter. Upon execution of the search warrant a large quantity marijuana, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and cash were discovered.

Mullen and his girlfriend, Taylor Duncan were both charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 3 over 28 grams under 200 grams and possession of marijuana over 4 ounces under five pounds. Investigators also located over $7,700 at the residence which was seized.

Mullen and Duncan were transported to the Henderson County Jail where bonds were set on Mullen at $55,000 and $40,000 on Duncan.
