Dan Hunt and Jessica Bargmann were sworn in as new prosecutors in Scott McKee’s Henderson County District Attorney’s Office this month. Both prosecutors bring with them unique experiences in prosecuting criminal offenses.

Daniel Hunt grew up in Fort Worth, and Graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business. After graduating from Rutgers School of Law, he immediately moved back to the DFW Area. He worked in the Johnson County Attorney’s Office (Cleburne) for seven years as a prosecutor. Dan’s wife, Keri, had lived her adult life in Cleburne, Texas. She graduated from Texas Wesleyan School of Law, and worked as a Staff Attorney at the 10th Court of Appeals in Waco.

In 2010, Dan’s wife received a job opportunity in Beaumont with the 9th Court of Appeals. They moved to Southeast Texas approximately five years ago. Daniel was hired by the Tyler County District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor. In 2014, he was offered a prosecutor position at the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in Beaumont. During his career, Dan has handled case intake, prosecution of misdemeanors and felonies, served as Chief of Misdemeanor Prosecution and handled many seizure/forfeiture cases.

Daniel and his wife decided they would like to move back to the North Texas area, to be nearer to family and friends. Dan collects and restores classic Ford Mustangs. Keri rescues abused and neglected dogs and is currently a staff attorney with the Twelfth Court of Appeals in Tyler. Dan is thrilled to have the opportunity to return to North Texas and prosecute in the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office.

Dan is serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Judge Dan Moore’s 173rd Judicial District Court.

Jessica Bargmann grew up in the Chicago suburb of Aurora, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2002 to 2005, graduating in the top 3% of her class with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication and Gender Studies. Jessica attended law school at the University of Toledo, where she interned at several county and federal prosecutor’s offices before graduating with honors in 2008.

Jessica was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2008 and began work as a staff attorney at the Office of the Illinois State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. In 2010, Jessica was hired by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago. There, she prosecuted cases in the Criminal Appeals and Domestic Violence Divisions.

Four years later, taking an opportunity to see another part of the world, Jessica moved to the U.S. Territory of American Samoa to work for the Attorney General’s Office. She was one of four felony prosecutors on the South Pacific Island. After 18 months overseas, Jessica missed family and friends (but not the Chicago winters) and decided to relocate to Texas. Jessica has always been drawn to the South, having lived in El Paso for five years as a child and having close family in Tulsa and Dallas.

Jessica is serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Judge Carter Tarrance’s 392nd District Court. As a newly licensed Texas Attorney, Bargmann was also given the Texas Bar Oath by Judge Carter Tarrance with all three Justices of the Twelfth Court of Appeals in Attendance.

With the addition of Hunt and Bargmann, the District Attorney’s office is now at their full staffing of eight attorneys.

“We are very lucky to have these attorneys who bring with them a wealth of experience from other jurisdictions,” said McKee. “We have been very fortunate to employ some very talented and dedicated prosecutors in the office during my tenure.”
