Jonathan Jackson does more than lead cheers at Trinity Valley Community College. The Moreno Valley, California freshman is a leader for the Cardinal Cheerleaders, both in the classroom and among his teammates.

Jackson was named TVCC Student-Athlete of the Month at the final Cardinal Pride Luncheon of the fall semester Monday at Cotton Patch.

“His work ethic and attitude are contagious and he very much leads by example,” cheer coach Khris Franklin said. “We may have gotten him to the college a little late in the semester, but he has more than made up for lost time.

Franklin also said Jackson has turned in only A’s and B’s on all of his grade checks and has been persistent in taking the steps necessary to move on to the next level of education.

Kris Baumann, associate athletic director/head men’s basketball coach, presented Director of Testing Gail St. Clair with the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Member of the Month award. St. Clair will be retiring from the college in December.
