Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests

On Friday, June 26, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brad Beddingfield conducted a traffic stop on Sunrise Drive, located in the Sunrise Shores Subdivision. During the traffic stop Deputy Beddingfield identified the driver of the vehicle as John Southerland and the passenger as Vicki Hardin.

Deputy Beddingfield found that John did not have a valid drivers license and had previously been convicted for driving with an invalid license. During a search of the vehicle suspected narcotics were located in more than one location of the vehicle.

Both Southerland and Hardin were arrested and taken to the Henderson County Jail.

Southerland was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1 gram and Driving While License Invalid with a Previous Conviction.
Hardin was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1 gram.

If Southerland and Hardin are convicted of the State Jail Felony Charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1 gram they could both face up to 2 years in a State Jail Facility and up to a 10,000 dollar fine.

Assisting with the arrest was Deputy Daniel Wright and Brownsboro Police Officer Josh Joplin and his K-9 partner.
