Special needs cheerleaders raising money for uniforms

Press release

The East Texas Twisters is a competitive cheerleading organization. This year, they had the opportunity to add a special needs team to the group. The team name is SuperStorm.

These children range from 3-14 and there are currently 12 members on the team. Most are from Henderson County with a few from Van Zandt County.

The main gym is in Canton, but there are also locations in Mineola and Mabank, and the SuperStorm is based in the Mabank gym.

Members of SuperStorm will get the opportunity to perform at cheerleading competitions against teams from around the state and nation for medals and trophies. Being able to give these children an opportunity to be a part of a team helps them feel included. As a parent, that is all we want for our children — to be included in the community.

The SuperStorm is seeking sponsorships for uniforms. Uniforms are $300 each and is just another part that helps them feel included. The group is not asking for the full amount, but any donation will be greatly appreciated.
