Sheriff’s Office arrests ‘major methamphetamine dealer’

Sheriff Botie Hillhouse’s team executed a search warrant at a residence west of Athens late Wednesday night and arrested a major methamphetamine dealer with a substantial amount of the contraband, large amount of cash and equipment to sell the drugs.

“Our late-night investigation paid off,” Hillhouse said. “This is a man we have been watching, wanted off the streets and last night we were able to arrest him belongs.”

Michael Brandon Moore, 34, was arrested at a residence just west of Athens on County Road 3925 after dark last night.

Investigators obtained information about Moore, and 392nd District Court Judge Scott McKee issued a search warrant for the home.

Six Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office descended on the residence and found approximately 211 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

They also found a large amount of cash, a scale commonly used to weigh drugs and bags used for distribution.

Investigators David Robertson, Josh Rickman, Raymond Yockey, David Faught, Meagan Hogan and Captain Damon Boswell arrested the suspect, and he was taken to the Henderson County Jail.

Moore faces a First Degree Felony for manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance more than 200 grams.
