How was your Saturday? Probably not as good as the one experienced by Jairus Roberson.

The Cardinal sophomore was on fire against Fort Hood in the Lewis Orr Class at Navarro College. Roberson poured in a school record 13 three-pointers in a 45-point performance as the Cardinals stayed unbeaten with a 113-58 win.

Roberson bettered the previous school record of 10 three-pointers in a game, held by Jay Smith (2007) and Brandon Holley (2016).

The win improved third-year head coach Guy Furr’s 15th-ranked Cardinals to 5-0.

Joining Roberson in double-digit scoring were Tyson Jolly with 16, Terry “TJ” Collins with 15, David Nickelberry and Vladmir Purtskhvanidze 11 each.

The Cardinals had 20 three-pointers.

Friday, the Cardinals were a 119-53 winner against North American College.

Nickelberry paced the Cardinals with 25 points.

Also scoring in double figures were Bruce “BJ” Simmons with 20, Jolly 19, Marquan Williams and Collins 12 each and Roberson 10.

The Cardinals have three home games this week. Wednesday, they play Lone Star-Tomball in a 7 p.m. tipoff.
