Obituary: Warren Chapman

Chapman, WarrenA Celebration of the Life of Warren Chapman, 87, of Murchison, Texas is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Chapman went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2014 in Athens, Texas.

Warren Earl Chapman was born on June 12, 1927 in Red Oak, Texas the son of Cletus and Gertrude Chapman. He was a member of the Methodist Church and served as a Leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship in Winnsboro. While in Winnsboro he also served on the Board for C.A.S.A. Warren moved to Murchison to become active in the community serving on the Economic Development Committee. He was also a member of the Athens Singles Group. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and fishing. His true love was his family, spending all his free time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all he knew and loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Edna “Pete” Chapman; two sons, Paul Chapman, Boe Sanderson and one sister Margie Coffey.

He is survived by two loving daughters, Evelyn Grace and husband Delbert of Dallas, Tonua Gibson and husband Layton of Murchison; two daughters in law, Monty Sanderson of Grapevine, Linda Chapman of Longview; three sisters, Nell Stovall Hargrove of Dallas, Peggy Weatherly of Red Oak, Mildred Simpson of Bentonville, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Reed Warren Sanderson, Ryan Adam Moody and Jessica Widdicombe, Brandon Irby and wife Brittany, Michael Grace and wife Ashley, Teresa Burdick and husband Reeves, Chelsea Reid, Cody Gibson and wife Tiffany, April Wilkerson and husband Jamie, Melissa Harris and husband Steve, Brittany Chapman; thirteen great grandchildren and a special friend Juanita Tamayo

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Layton Gibson, Jonathan Day, Delbert Grace, Brandon Irby, Ryan Moody and Reed Sanderson.
