Obituary: Teressa Splawn

Funeral services for Teressa Splawn, 56, of Larue are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the New York Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at New York Cemetery in Larue, Texas.

Teressa Lynn Splawn went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2018 in Larue, Texas.

Teressa Lynn Boyd Splawn was born May 24, 1962 in Athens, Texas the daughter of William Kenneth Boyd and Sarah Lela Isbell Edwards. She was an active member of the New York Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She worked at Morton’s Animal Clinic for 14 years, where she met her husband Stevie. She went to work for Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice for over 21 years before taking a job with Choice Homecare and loved her job helping others by organizing events at Nursing Homes and Healthcare Facilities. Teressa was also part of the Henderson County APS Advisory Board to benefit the Silver Star room. She loved taking pictures and making memories with her friends and family. “Grammy” cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She was their biggest supporter and cheerleader, traveling to attend their ball games and livestock shows. They could always hear her whistle and knew she was in the stands.

Teressa is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Stevie Splawn of Larue; her mother Lela Edwards and husband Gaylon of Larue; father Kenneth Boyd and wife Mary of Athens; two children, Jamie Lynn Phillips and husband Daniel of Fairfield, Brad Nathaniel Splawn and wife Emily of Larue; four brothers, Glenn Boyd of Athens, James Boyd and wife Michelle of Larue, Stacy Boyd of Larue, Paul Boyd and wife Latricia of Athens; two grandchildren, Colby Splawn and Blake Phillips; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

Serving as pallbearers: Diron Berry, Lanny Reynolds, Dewey Reynolds, John Jackson, Lee Tackett and Jimmy Splawn.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in her memory to the Henderson County Adult Protective Services Advisory Board to benefit the Silver Star Room.

Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family.

  1. Such a sweet lady. My heart is so sad for her family, loved ones, & friends! She would always stop & talk if she saw someone she knew… I’m going to miss her sweet smile & conversation. God bless family/friends.
