Stephan (Steve) Carl Hanson beloved husband, father, grandfather and son returned home to his Heavenly Father on November 8, 2018 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born January 3, 1955 in Reno, Nevada, and formerly resided in Athens, Texas for the past 18 years. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2018 with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Beck’s Chapel Cemetery near Cross Roads.
He was preceded in death by his father Wilford Mitchell Hanson, Sr., his mother Dorothea Pratt Hanson, sisters; Pamela Hanson Jones, Christine Hanson Pass and brother Brian Hanson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40-plus years Deborah Hanson, his children; Jeremiah Hanson and wife Shauna of Iowa, Heather Hanson of Texas, Julie Hanson Delgado and husband Alfredo of Iowa, Stephanie Hanson Delgado and husband David of North Dakota, Heidi Hanson Mosby of Texas, Joshua Hanson of Iowa, and 20 grandchildren. Also survived in life by his brothers and sisters; Howard Meldrum and wife Mable, Sandra Barlow and husband Alma Dayer, DruAnne Lebaron and husband Floren, Nanette Hanson, Wilford Mitchell Hanson, Jr. and wife Michelle, Gregory Hanson and wife Monalisa, Renee Thomas and husband Jack, Rickie Hanson, Mark Hanson and wife Lorrie. Along with many nieces and nephews.
I sure do love you, may Steve rest in peace, and may the angles and love be with you.
He was one of the most wonderful Examples in my life, my favorite Uncle. I know you are in the hands of our Heavenly Father now. I hope you knew how much we loved you.
