Carl and Virginia were married in 1940, members of the greatest generation. They were stationed in Southern California during World War II and relocated to Fort Worth, where they raised their family. Always striving to better herself, Virginia completed business school and received many college certificates. She retired after 17 years from General Dynamics. She and Carl spent the last 25 years of their life in the home they built at Cedar Creek Lake. All who knew her remember her complete devotion to her family, love of animals and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 73 years, Carl David Houk. She is also survived by three daughters, Judy Ward of Mabank, Jan Ray of Arlington, and Lori Zurita of Wylie; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased in death by four brothers and sisters, a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson.

They are members of the First Assembly of God in Malakoff and their lives were guided and enriched by their continual walk with their Lord.
