Obituary: Rhonnie Jack Edwards

Funeral services for Rhonnie Jack Edwards 75, Branch, Arkansas formerly of Murchison have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday September 18, 2017 at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Stovall officiating.

Private family burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.

Rhonnie passed away Thursday morning in Branch, Arkansas.

He was born November 7, 1941 in Murchison to the late Rufus Redden and Rennie Bell McClain Edwards. He graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1960. After high school he worked on his family’s farm for several years with his father. He then worked for General Electric for 17 years. After leaving General Electric he worked for various companies in the oil field until he retired in 2005. He was married for 38 years and had three sons. After retirement, he continued to farm and raise cattle. In 2016, he moved to Branch, Arkansas to be closer to his youngest grandson and “little buddy” Easton . He was a member of Barton’s Chapel Assembly of God in Murchison, Texas from the time he was 7 days old. He taught the adult Sunday School class and led worship for more than 40 years. When he moved to Arkansas in 2016, he found a second church home and family at Paris Pentecostal Church in Paris, Arkansas.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers; Francis Edwards, Daryl Edwards and Ozell Edwards, sisters; Margie Harper, Glenda Chambers and Allene Holland.

Survivors include his sons, James Edwards and wife Deidre, Brownsboro, Benjamin Edwards and wife Tammie, Tyler, Jeremy Edwards and wife Sarah, Branch, Ar., grandchildren; Alex Noecker and Tessa Noecker, Brownsboro, BenLee Edwards, Columbia, Mo., Josh and Brae Priest, Overland Park, Ks., Jamie and Bree Schliebe, Olympia, Wa., Easton Edwards, Branch, Ar., great-grandson; Liam Schliebe, Olympia, Wa., brothers; Gaylon Edwards and wife Lyla, Larue, Joe Edwards and wife Quinny, Rockwall, brother-in-law; Henry Chambers, Murchison, mother of his children; Julene Edwards, Murchison.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
